I modify his last point: Coach Tuberville is a two-faced racist.

In a literal nutshell, today’s “Republican Party.”

That couldn’t give a tinker’s damn about republican governance,

You and Mack Brown at the University of Texas,

Making more money than any adjunct or tenured professors,

Going into black people’s houses,

Lying to [future] prospects’ parents,

“Don’t worry! I will care for him like he was my [own] son.”

I’m sure you said something to that effect.

Now, we know you were an overseer of a modern-day plantation,

Plantation oligarchs used to make enslaved people compete in games and bet on their athletic performances,

Now, they’re called university presidents, sports leagues, and team owners!

Colleges are just sports franchises with academic side hustles!

 

You and your university,

Owe reparations to the families,

Who put their lots on football scholarships,

That was no different than putting themselves willingly on the auction block,

 

Maybe some of them would go pro;

0.03% of high school athletes: most would not.

The ones that “make it” against statistical odds favoring better being struck by lightning,

Will have to deal with traumatic brain injury,

Broken bones,

Torn ligaments,

The Second Law of Thermodynamics

Wreaking havoc on their aging bodies,

For the modern-day equivalent,

Of gladiators in the ancient Roman coliseum,

Minus marauding lions,

 

Reparations: (noun):

Making amends for a wrong one has done,

By paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged,

 

“The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold, and clothing articles.” Exodus 12:35

 

In other words: reparations for 400 years of enslavement,

 

Until Pharaoh said, “what the ——?”

And launched chariots against them at the sea of reeds,

To get back their mineral booty,

 

Because then and now, reparations would unravel the entire fabric of Egyptian and western civilization,

The jewelry in the United Kingdom,

The artistry in the Louvre,

The stolen artifacts in worldwide museums,

They would have to be returned to their rightful owners,

The real estate stolen from indigenous peoples,

Given back, de-industrialized, and depopulated by colonizers,

 

The earth and Gaia bear witness,

This imbalance is killing us,

Climate change superstorms every other week,

We naval gaze at them like American gun massacres,

“Thoughts and prayers” without repentant actions,

We, nor your former players, want crime: just fairness.

 

Because the novelty of morbidly wealthy people has outlived its existence,

And usefulness (if it ever was),

 

Call me when the Forbes 400 List of the wealthiest billionaire narcissists makes the FBI’s Most Wanted!

 

Jeff Bezos,

What’s the purpose of owning Amazon,

Throwing a dick rocket into orbit for ten minutes,

Buying a billion-dollar yacht,

And a half billion dollar spare one for the helicopter,

Then whining about paying taxes that YOU owe?
