I met him at a dinner party.

I said that I hosted a poetry venue at Mitchie’s Fine Black Art and Frame Gallery.

I was about to say that it was my therapy after being let go in the 14th round of layoffs by Motorola, Incorporated.

 

“Oh! So, you’re a ‘Bush hater?’”

That was a non-sequitur on steroids.

This  contrarian tunneled from poetry to politics.

 

I admitted that I didn’t vote for his preferred candidate.

And it was my choice as an American to choose his Democratic opponent.

 

But that wasn’t the point:

He wanted an argument.

He wanted a fight!

Insulting my wife in front of me, her, and his.

It took everything me, then 23 years in the martial arts to keep from throttling him!

 

Sambo turned a dinner party into a spectacle.

Anger and rage filled the space.

Twice, the host almost had to call the police.

 

Later,

Our sons met on the basketball court,

Sambo shot a look of contempt at me,

Like he knew that his son was better in the sport.

His son was on Leander’s team, mine on Cedar Park’s.

My son stole his son’s ball twice and dunked on his once.

Cedar Park won the game by double digits on Leander’s court!

Before I could confront him on the victory,

“Step-n-fetch” left the gym quickly.

 

Later, Mr. “Family Values,”

Left his stay-at-home wife, two sons, and a daughter for his college sweetheart.

He moved with her to Ohio.

(The fact that “Gym Jordan” is their congressman explains a lot!)

 

His ex-wife suddenly had to find a job with no skills to keep her family afloat.

She lost the house.

Her daughter became teenage-pregnant.

I saw Wilco covering his sons on police blotters for burglary and grand theft auto.

 

I’m not gloating.

I’m listening to the contrarians today who are verbally saying that they:

“Can’t vote for a woman,”

“Can’t see a female president,”

“He gave us a check during COVID.”

(He wrote his name on it.)

It wouldn’t have killed as many black and brown citizens had he properly handled it!

Remember when they wanted to open the economy when we were the main casualties?

 

I’m looking at you, black men,

“Insulted” [by the way] the first black president spoke to you,

About the importance of this election,

 

Brothers:

Where were your feelings when your high school coaches got in your shit?

How many four-letter words did the black president insult you with?

If your woman is pregnant and has a life-threatening complication, do you have the income to fly her to a “free state,” or another country to save her?

If your baby girl is sexually assaulted, are you prepared to become the grandfather to a child conceived by her rapist?

Which candidate called Africa and the Caribbean “shit hole countries?”

Which administration authorized gender-affirming care for prison inmates in 2019? Hint:

The current president was a civilian,

The current Vice President-Democratic presidential candidate was in the Senate,

And we were one year away from him botching a global pandemic!

He blamed the “deep state” for his 2020 election loss.

Again, I ask you: Who was president?

 

Which candidate pitched paper towels to hurricane victims in Puerto Rico,

And which is lying about FEMA in North Carolina, putting workers and Helene survivors in danger?

Which is lying about Haitian legal migrants, resulting in bomb threats?

Who called Colin Kaepernick a “son of a bitch” for peacefully protesting police violence against us?

Who said he wanted generals like Hitler’s?

Who wants to re-indict the Exonerated Five?

This Bizarro clone of Alphonse Capone isn’t about that “peace on Earth” thing.

“Christian nationalism isn’t Christianity: It’s white supremacy in Bible Drag!”

 

News flash: You are openly supporting a fascist.

Who raged about paying for a murdered Fort Hood soldier’s funeral - Vanessa Guillén.

“It doesn’t cost 60,000 bucks to bury a fucking Mexican! Don’t [pay] it! Fucking people are trying to rip me off!”[1]

A racist and con artist who will make “stop and frisk” against us: national policy.

A man who stole classified documents has handpicked Aileen Cannon, on the shortlist to replace Merrick Garland!

A megalomaniac lying about Project 2025, actualizing his insanity!

It can get worse for us, for the planet, and humanity.

Sambo lived on to regret his reenactment of Cain and Abel.

Abel’s blood “cried out,”[3] and Cain found himself marked and cursed for the rest of his days.

Vote for democracy, or the Neo-confederacy.

Vote for freedom, or De Facto slavery.

Vote for the overqualified woman, or the six bankruptcies fascist.

Vote for diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, or its opposite: Eugenics.[4]

 

A man comparing his schlong to Arnold Palmer’s in the Golf Club showers,

And he thinks so little of you, or his cult followers that that’s his “closing argument?”

By the way:

“Do you want fries with that shake?”

Brothers:

“Owning the libs” won’t preclude your trip to the Auschwitz furnaces:

Amy (“Mother Dear”) and Horace Dickerson Sr. (“Paw-Paw”)

History kissed me on the forehead,

And told me to call him “Paw-Paw,”

After I reflexively called him Reverend.

“You married my granddaughter. You’re my kid now!”

His wife, Amy, said, “Hello, darling. I’m your grandmother, Mother Dear.”

 

Both moved me because I had no experience with having living grandparents.

Both of mine were deceased before my birth.

 

The history of this reunion started with a story,

Repeated with many African American families,

The patriarch almost lost his life for the audacity of voting.

Assaulted by Klansmen,

Three years before the lynching of Emmitt Till in Mississippi.

The inspiration for the March on Washington, eight years later.

 

The cowardly Klansmen’s ancestors dressed in sheets,

Pretending to be malevolent spirits,

Attempting to frighten newly freed citizens from voting,

Helped by Poll Taxes, Constitutional Quizzes, and guessing the number of soap bubbles.

(They now use repealing parts of the Voting Rights Act, gerrymandering, voter suppression, and voter purging.)

Paw-Paw was assaulted,

Eleven years before the assassination of a fellow Traveling Man, Medgar Evers.

 

Both men understood their assignment from Heaven:

“Very truly, I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” John 12:24

 

Left for dead by two ravenous wolves,

Saved by two other men, angels sent from Heaven,

 

The Worshipful Master understood his assignment.

Despite the protestations of his wife, Amy,

He went out of his threshold the year after his assault to vote again.

 

Because some things are [just] worth dying for.

Freedom is one of them.

Ask the Buffalo Soldiers.

Ask the Tuskegee Airmen.

Ask the young men who, 80 years ago, stormed the beaches of Normandy, France.

Ask Crispus Attucks!

 

Paw-Paw did not die, thankfully. It was not his time yet.

He entered the pantheon of unsung Civil Rights heroes.

Living long enough to be the history that kissed me on the forehead.

 

And I can today; I can tell his spirit,

I have taken the honorific “Paw-Paw” in his memory.

I’m sure Mother Dear is very happy.

 

“Honoring our heritage,

“Preserving our present,

“While building our future.”

 

We are their seeds.

Honor them accordingly.

This cryptography doesn’t even require a degree in hieroglyphics.

 

All of this has always been gaslighting.

Because painting reparations as only going to black people hides the crux of the problem.

 

You gave George Takei, Mr. Sulu of “Star Trek,” and Japanese Americans compensation for illegal internment.

You now allow Asian immigrants to go to universities and top STEM positions.

You need to give reparations to the once-enslaved people’s descendants.

You need to give the land back to Native Americans.

You need to give bodily autonomy BACK to women.

 

If you’re familiar with knitting,

Pulling out one strand can unravel the fabric pattern.

The entire system is corrupted bullshit.

The prohibition against the enslaved reading George Washington (yeah, THAT one) was enacted right after the Haitian Revolution.

Kicking out your French weapons suppliers probably caused consternation at the constitutional convention.

You couldn’t maintain an economy based on free labor when the enslaved realize that they don’t have to put up with it.

 

Why are they always opposed to raising the minimum wage?

It has to be:

“Open borders,”

The Texas-Mexico Border is 1,392 miles from Maryland.

The immigrants from Central America and Mexico worked in the middle of the night, filling potholes and doing jobs most Americans won't do!

If “DEI” to MAGA means “didn’t earn it,”

How did it knock down a bridge?

Ahem: That’s because it’s called an accident.

The laws of physics don’t bend to your conspiracy theories.

Species survival has little to do with billionaires funding space exploration but [mutual] cooperation.

Never mind trying to find other planets when you can’t work out your differences on this one!

 

D-E-I-A means “diversity, equity, inclusion, AND accessibility!”

Because,

We want to include our sisters and brothers with disabilities.

Transpose the “I” forward, and you get the “IDEA.”

Because inclusion is the lynchpin,

You can’t invent a warp drive until you understand this.

I get that DEIA might be too triggering.

It’s been around since humans.

It’s an idea more ancient than writing.

It has two simpler words describing it: fairness and sharing.

This is something billionaires have a considerable problem with.

 

The banana meme says:

“If a monkey hoarded more bananas than it could eat, while most of the other monkeys starved, scientists would study that monkey to find out what the heck is WRONG with it.

Trying to live out our lives in relative peace and comfort.

 

Question: Who are the actual people who “didn’t earn it?”

Answer: The one percent.

 

And we,

Who built this country,

Every ethnicity, every religion, every nationality, every sexual orientation,

We, who have the votes to choose David Hogg’s “leaders we deserve” and change the narrative, the nation, and the world:

 

“We The People,” not “Citizens United,” deserve it!

“Moms for Liberty,”

An oxymoron more than military intelligence,

It is designated as one of twelve hate groups,

Identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center,

In their annual “Year in Hate and Extremism” report,

 

More accurately, they are:

Assholes with Casseroles, or

The Minivan Taliban!

 

We might as well 

start calling them “Klan’ed Karen Hood,”

They are the natural outgrowth of calling 911 to slaughter US citizens,

Threatening “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” at a family reunion or picnic.

Why murder by proxy when you can do it directly?

Holding a Klan conclave in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,

Birthplace of the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence,

Protesters hung apropos signs outside of their hotel rooms:

 

“Please disturb — fascism in progress.”

“Did you know a designated hate group is staying in this hotel?”

 

They’re proud of bullying trans kids, for Christ’s sake

Married to the heir of the Amway fortune,

Was the Secretary of Education, with 

ZERO experience as an educator,

(So, zero experience was Secretary Arne Duncan in the Obama administration),

Under Orange Satan’s administration,

Tried to destroy her department,

In her remarks, she didn’t think the Department of Education should exist,

The main pillar of democracy is an informed citizenry,

These fascist mothers quoted Hitler: “He alone who owns the youth attains the future.”

“You have to understand…that you’re sending your children to Maoist thought-reform prisons” and that parents need to “fix this system to get this crap seen and identified for the crime against humanity that it is and pulled out of the schools. You’re war moms; you got this.”

It’s no wonder we’re losing teachers EVERY year!

Clarence Thomas Secretly Sold Mother's Home to Harlan Crow, The Real Deal

Twenty-three years ago,

The Supreme Court,

Despite the corruption and debacle of the 2000 election,

Decided 5-4 to give the electoral college victory to George W. Bush by the conservative majority,

That included Clarence Thomas,

 

His noble predecessor,

Thurgood Marshall fought for civil rights,

As an attorney for the NAACP legal defense fund,

He argued and won 29 out of 32 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, eventually becoming the first black Associate Justice.

In the most notable of cases,

Was Brown vs. Board of Education,

To make “separate but equal” constitutional,

Southern states would have to decide to fund all schools equally,

The old South balked at this.

They preferred instead to birth “Christian academies” to avoid being integrated.

Thurgood Marshall won a 9-0 unanimous decision.

He served from 1967 - 1991,

Retiring, because the warrior was tired,

He transitioned two years later.

Asking if he preferred his replacement to be African American,

Thurgood said something that proved to be prescient:

“It doesn’t matter if it’s a black snake or a white snake: a snake is a snake!”

George Herbert Walker Bush looked high and low for his reptilian replacement,

His chosen token was Clarence Thomas:

 

Assistant Secretary of Education for the Office of Civil Rights, June 26, 1981 - May 6, 1982,

Chair of the Equal Opportunity Commission, May 6, 1982 - March 8, 1990,

Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals, D.C. Circuit, March 12, 1990 - October 23, 1991,

 

The first of two Associate Justices credibly accused of sexual misconduct,

Anita Hill was profiled as a woman scorned,

When her file was with all documents about Thomas his legal career and life,

Two other accusers [were] ignored at the hearing,

He survived his confirmation, invoking a visceral image that his hard questions were a “high-tech lynching.”

Thomas didn’t get his first extravagant gift from billionaire Harlan Crow until [after] he survived it.

When he took his seat, Thomas went silent.

For decades, he was a meme for judicial mediocrity,

The lone dissenting voice on things that should have been a layup: Affirmative Action, the KKK, an insurrection involving Ginny (recuse, you idiot).

 

Harlan admitted in the Dallas Morning News that he “doesn’t know if he’d be friends” with Clarence if he weren’t a Supreme Court justice.

 

Friends don’t have conditions.

Friends grow up in the same neighborhood.

Friends go to school together.

Friends are in the same scout troop.

Friends play on the same sports team.

Friends vibe off each other at poetry venues.

Friends have things in common, like “The Golden Girls.”

Clarence and Harlan have none of this,

 

Clarence and Harlan aren’t “simpatico.”

Clarence may be the only black man to admire Harlan’s Hitler memorabilia.

Harlan paid for Clarence and Ginny Thomas’s lavish vacations,

He bought Thomas’s mother’s home and the block she lives on and lets her live rent-free in it,

He paid for a boarding school for Thomas’s grandnephew,

Who’s paying large under-the-table sums to Ginny Thomas?

(Oh! That would be Leonard Leo, a conservative activist in the Federalist Society through Kellyanne Conway.)

In the vernacular of slavery: the Thomas’s are “owned.”

Thomas is [a] flunky for “Quid Pro Crow.”

 

As fast as John Cornyn and “Cancun Cruz” jumped to Crow’s defense,

Texas: ask to see your senators’ tax returns!

And vote for Colin Allred to “repeal and replace” Ted!

 

While we’re at it:

Who bought Neil Gorsuch’s property?

Who paid Brett Kavanaugh’s high debts?

Why is the richest multimillionaire on the Supreme Court, Chief Justice John Roberts?

Or, his wife, Jane Sullivan Roberts, a ten million-dollar-a-year conservative lobbyist?

(It might explain why he refused to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee under oath voluntarily!)

Why doesn’t the highest court in the land have a board of ethics?

How can you expect them to follow ethics when it’s just nine people spitballing?

How many other billionaires own their own Supreme Court Justices?

 

As the scales fall from our eyes, we have to ask:

 

Did we EVER have the “rule of law?”

Were we ever a federal republic?

 

The “Supreme Court” is neither.

This self-description is gaslighting.

 

Once you accept that they “sit high and look low” to pontificate about how laws can reinforce white supremacy,

They’ve been doing this since Dred Scott and Chief Justice Taney,

Once you accept this,

Everything makes perfect but grim sense.

Clarence Thomas is step-n-fetch in judicial robes,

Uncle Ruckus from “The Boondocks”

Lying about having “reverse vitiligo,”

Working on the desires of his corrupt benefactor, Massa Quid Pro Crow.

Clarence is just a token add-on, and he’s quite happy to fill his role until his last breath.

 

Jim Crow 2.0 is Quid Pro Crow.

IBM gave calculators to Nazis to count the bodies of Jews in concentration camps,

The Koch brothers’ dad sold products in WWII to Nazis and Soviets,

Hitler made Volkswagen,

Coca-Cola made Fanta soda for the Nazis,

Harlan Crow in Dallas, Texas, has Nazi memorabilia and Hitler portraits,

Stop looking for German accents, swastikas, and Hitler mustaches,

Goose steppers are caricatures:

Real fascists have checkbooks!
